International Workshop on Enhanced Living EnvironMENTs ELEMENT-2015

The second edition of the International Workshop on Enhanced Living EnvironMENTs, ELEMENT-2015, taking place in Ohrid, fYR Macedeonia, is dedicated to the dissemination and evaluation of original contributions to architectures, techniques, protocols, components, orchestration, choreography and development related to the ELE area. Investigations, discussions and experiences from different stakeholders’ perspective on AAL technologies are welcome. The event is organized in the framework of the ICT COST Action IC1303 Algorithms, Architectures and Platforms for Enhanced Living Environments (AAPELE).

The focus of this workshop is on new architectures, methods, techniques, protocols, components and tools related to the Ambient Assisted Living Systems. These may include, but are not limited to the following topics:
  • Sensing and Monitoring.
  • ICT instrumentation and Middleware support for Smart Environments.
  • Human-Computer Interaction at AAL environments.
  • Environment Adaptation based on intelligence.
  • Intelligent Healthcare and Homecare Environments.
  • ELE Architectures and Platforms.
  • Key applications domains.
Do not hesitate to contact the Lead TPC Chair <ngarcia {at} ubi {dot} pt> to clarify if a particular topic is in the scope of ELEMENT-2015.

Professor Janez Trontelj is the Head of the Chair for Microelectronic Technologies and Laboratory for Microelectronics at the University of Ljubljana. He has established collaborations with US and European users and producers of microcircuits, led workshops on IEEE conferences and was invited speaker in several design and development centers worldwide. The major results of his research work are the development of
telecommunication and automotive microcircuits, as well as magnetic and mechanical microsystems sensors, which are being produced in millions. During the last years, he leads the project of terahertz sensing and imaging, which brought impressive results.
