Thessaloniki airport in Greece

Well connected to other European destinations, but unfortunately there are no direct connections to Ohrid. It is possible to get from Thessaloniki to Skopje, by bus or train, bus being recommended as it is much faster (3,5-4 hours in contrast to train that takes 7 hours).

By bus from Thessaloniki to Skopje

There is only one official bus connection and it is operated jointly by Macedonia Transport from Skopje and Simeonidis Tours from Thessaloniki. Bus ticket price is 20€ in one direction or 25€ for a return ticket, once daily regularly or twice daily in high season. Visit the respective links for more information (you can use services like Google Translate) if the text is not in English. Note: This bus line has been used by us for many times in the last two years, it also stops in Veles and Negotino if there are reservations from passengers in those cities, otherwise it is a direct line between Thessaloniki and Skopje. From personal experience it is possible to reserve tickets online (by email or phone contact to Simeonidis) and then pay on-site.
