Association for Information and Communication Technologies ICT-ACT Mission of the ICT Association is to support the development of information and communication technologies in North Macedonia, the Balkan region and beyond, especially in the area of education, research and application of innovative technologies. You can find out more and become a member of ICT-ACT.

Organising of scientific conferences and workshops in the areas of interest to the Association

Organising of expert and  scientific lectures and presentations of domestic and foreign experts.

Organising research in the area of interest

Creating support to the institutions of higher education on cycle 1, 2 and 3.

Active collaboration with ICT industry trough projects and IT expertise

Proposing and participating in scientific research projects

Active collaboration with governmental and other organizations in the area of ICT industry trough appropriate consultancy, workshops, discussion groups, realization of applicative projects and IT expertise.

FCSE

The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) within the SS Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, is the largest and most prestigious faculty in the field of computer science and technologies in Macedonia, and among the largest faculties in that field in the region. FCSE teaching staff consists of over 60 professors and 15 associates.

These include many “best in field” personal, such as the most referenced scientist in Macedonia, the most influential professor in ICT industry in Macedonia, etc. As a result, only this year 1100 students have enrolled at 7 different modules (majors) with more than 20 profiles (minors) in the first year of undergraduate studies. The total number of students enrolled at FCSE is more than 4000, of these 2600 undergraduate students, more than 400 master students and 100 PhD students. These figures make FCSE the largest technical faculty in R. Macedonia. The FSCE offers wide range of selective courses to its students making different profiles capable to cope with different professional challenges. The FSCE students are familiar with English and the languages of the region. Those facts, with combination with HD video conferencing resources that are on FSCE disposal, ease intensive collaboration with foreign Universities and companies including possibility to invite different highly specialized lectures when needed.

FCSE has the largest quota for admissions of prospective students in Macedonia among IT faculties, has the largest number of study programmes and the largest number of elective courses allowing a wide range of IT profiles. FCSE continues the long tradition of successful and promising students who have studied information technology on the two institutes in the last 30 years. Former students of the two preceeding institutes (II and ICTI) today work at the most prestigious companies and scientific institutions in Macedonia, and some of them abroad. Studying at the FCSE is facilitated with the help of modern equipped computer laboratories, university computer center, computerized library, wireless internet covering the entire area of the faculty, distance learning, online materials, online discussions, online news and press releases, direct e-mail communication with the professors and assistants, sports hall, student’s café, etc. Also, FCSE has the largest super-computer in Macedonia.

Internship at domestic companies while studying is mandated for all students of FCSE, with at least one month each study year. The collaboration that the Faculty has with the industry offers opportunity to get internship positions for FCSE students both in the country and abroad, sometimes even as a joint graduate work, or implementation of parts of the educational activities in some courses.
